25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced random annual inspection to the above facility. At 10:50am, LPA met with licensee Irene Guzman. Also present during this inspection Licensee’s Assistants. This is a large family child care home The licensee states that they currently has 13 children enrolled. A current children’s roster is available and is current. Licensee’s hours of operation are 8am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, office, back room (classroom), attached garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use back room (classroom), back bathroom, one bedroom (nap room), and the front yard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area, office, and backyard. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 2 adults and 1 minor currently live in the home. All persons living in the home are identified on a confidential form. Licensee states that they currently have three assistants. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 11am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. LPA observed 8 children with 4 staff members. During drop off, children are brought down the driveway to the back door of the home, by their authorized representative. Upon entry into the home, the back room/classroom was reviewed. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. There are first aid supplies available. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. There were many age appropriate toys and materials available for children.
