32 | The applicant will take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. LPA’s observed trash containers with tight fitting cover in good repair leakproof and rodent-proof. LPA’s did not observe any fireplaces or open-faced heaters. All window screens are in good repair and free of insects, dirt and debris.
LPA’s observed a first aid kit with a current edition of a first-aid manual, sterile first-aid dressings, bandages or roller bandages, adhesive tape, scissors, tweezers, thermometer, and antiseptic solution.
Applicant will store disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children will be in the preschool classroom area inside a cabinet with a safety latch. LPA’s observed a fire extinguisher located in each classroom #9 and #10 with an inspection tag dated 8/2/2023.
The applicant shall be responsible for ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness including, but not limited to, fever or vomiting, are not accepted.
Applicant stated the office will be used as the isolation area to isolate and care for any child who becomes ill during the day. The isolation area shall be equipped with a crib, cot, mat or playpen for each ill infant. Applicant will ensure any infant in the isolation area shall be under constant visual observation by a director, assistant director, a teacher or an aide.
There are carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in all rooms. The child care centers has a working landline telephone service on the premises.
