25 | On 10/16/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loyce Phillips conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection with Applicant, Artavazd Karamyan This inspection is due to an application received for a small family childcare license. Applicant resides in the home with 4 minor children. Applicant advised LPA no other adults live in the home. Applicant guided LPA on a tour of the home and intends to operate Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Applicant intends to provide breakfast, lunch and am/pm snacks to children.
Applicant currently have child-care insurance. The areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with living room, dining area, kitchen and laundry room.
Areas that are accessible to children are as follows: Living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom #3, bathroom #2 and front yard for outdoor play activities. LPA observed age appropriate safe toys, play equipment and materials for children.
The off-limits areas are as follows: Bedroom #1, #2, bathroom #1, located inside bedroom #1, laundry room and backyard.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medication and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. Applicant advised; children will nap on toddler beds located in bedroom #3 and cots in the living room. Applicant has a smoke detector and carbon monoxide that was tested and working properly. LPA observed Fire Extinguisher purchase 9/4/2023 located in the living room. The first-aid kit was located in the living room. Medications are stored in the hallway inaccessible to children. Knives are stored in a kitchen drawer inaccessible to children. Cleaning products are kept under the sink inaccessible to children.
