32 | During interview with the Director, Director denied serving the children expired milk or food. Per Director, all expired food is thrown out on Friday's at the end of the day. Per Director only herself and the assistant Director are allowed to prepare the meals and beverages for the children and they check the milk and food before serving. Per Director, they drink the meal to ensure it is not spoiled before serving. Per Director, they do not shop for the food for the center at Food Bank's, they shop for the food at Smart and Final or Costco. Per Director the food is shopped for weekly and is in brought in on Sunday's for the up coming week. Regarding the allegation of “Staff use hazardous materials in the presence of children", the Director stated the staff does have a cleaning schedule, and they are not allowed to use cleaning supplies while the children are present. Regarding the allegation of “Staff co-mingle the infants with preschoolers", Per Director the infants have their own yard and they do not play on the preschool yard. Per Director the preschool playground equipment is to big for the infants and is not safe and they would not allow them to play there.
During the inspection LPA observed milk that had expired the day before and milk that was not expired. LPA did not observe any of the children drinking the milk. LPA did not observe any expired foods at the facility. LPA did not observe any staff using hazardous items in the presence of the children. LPA did not observe during either visit to the facility any of the infant children co-mingling with the preschool children. LPA observed a separate yard with a gate at the front of the center for the infants, LPA did not observe the preschool and infant children together on the same play yard.
During the interview with the staff, they also denied the allegations and did not report observing any of the alleged incidents mentioned. Their statements were consistent with the Director responses.
The parents interviewed also did not express any concerns related to the allegations mentioned above. Most of the parents were pleased with the services and care being provided to their children.
Per interview with children, children did not express drinking or tasting food or beverage's that had a weird or yucky taste. Children interviewed were pleased with the food and beverages served to them.
Based on the investigation conducted, there is insufficient evidence to support the above-mentioned allegations to be true. Therefore, although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a
