32 | The applicant states that they will provide food for children in care. If food is not provided and food is brought from the children’s homes; container shall be labeled with child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated.
The applicant has completed the required Health and Safety Training and Nutrition Training. There are first aid supplies available located in the kitchen. Although the applicant has completed a Pediatric CPR and First Aid training online they are required to complete this training in person.
Per Title 22 section 12416(1)(a) "In addition to any other required training... each family day care home licensee who provides care shall have at least 15 hours of training on preventive health practices. The training shall include pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation, pediatric first aid, recognition, management, and prevention of infectious diseases, including immunization's, and prevention of childhood injuries. The training may include training on sanitary food handling, child nutrition, emergency preparedness and evacuation, caring for children with special needs, and identification and reporting of signs and symptoms of child abuse"(e) "the training required under subdivision (a) shall not be provided by a home study course. This training may be provided through on-the-job training, workshops, or classes...."
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, sharp objects and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible via drawer locks.
The applicant states that there are no poisons on the premises or poisons. The applicant was advised that any poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
The children will use the backyard for outdoor play, which was observed to be fenced and have age appropriate play equipment. Per applicant, there are no pet in the home. Applicant states there are no firearms or weapons in the home. LPA did not observe any body of water during the inspection
The valve on the 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged, and was purchased on 10/5/24. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Childcare Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home. Page 2 of 5
