On July 27, 2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA’s) Susana Martinez and Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced required-1 year inspection and an increase in capacity. LPA’s met with site director Stephanie Carver and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the site director, LPA’s toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of the inspection there were no children in care. No bodies of water were observed at the time of inspection.

The center is currently closed for the summer and will re-open on 8/21/23. Center hours are M-F 8:30 AM- 5 PM. Site director states children bring snacks and lunches from home. LPA observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility. Last fire drill was conducted on 5/19/2023. Each of the classrooms have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. LPA did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children. First Aid kits were observed throughout the facility.

A sampling of 5 children and 3 staff records were reviewed. LPA observed 5 out of 5 children's files to be complete and current. Staff's CPR/First Aid certificates are current with an expiration date of 9/2024. One out of three staff files was observed to be missing the mandated reporter certification. LPA reminded site supervisor that every employee should have a valid mandated reporter certification which expires every 2 years. LPA provided the mandated reporter certification website and advised for all employees to complete the training prior to re-opening on August 21, 2023.

The center submitted an application to increase the capacity from 45 to 81 children. The center has added two rooms, in total the center will be using 5 rooms for childcare. Classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. Age appropriate toys and learning materials were observed in each room.

The facility has 5 toilets, 1 urinal and 7 sinks. The outdoor activity space has ample amount of space and has sufficient shade.
