32 | There is an Emergency Survival Kit kept inside a storage shed outside locked. All trash cans did not have secure lids. The temperature inside each classroom was comfortable. Representative stated, the fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the day care center are all operable and were checked during the fire inspection.
Bathrooms: There are restrooms for the children in the classroom or between the classrooms with small toilets and handwashing sinks that are functioning properly and at the appropriate height. One bathroom had a changing table. LPA did not observe any accessible hazards. There was soap, toilet paper, and paper towels available. The staff restrooms are in the hallway outside of the classrooms.
Kitchen: There is a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, stove, two ovens, microwave, dishwasher, and three sinks and a prep sink. The kitchen was clean and there were no accessible hazards observed. The facility provides morning snacks, lunch, and afternoon snacks. The menus are posted inside the classrooms. There is a confidential allergy list posted on the freezer. LPA observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks. The chemicals and cleaning supplies are kept separate from the food and are locked in the custodian closet outside of the kitchen and a small cabinet under the sink. LPA observed 1%, milk, whole milk, and 2% Lactaid milk and Soy milk. Representative stated the whole milk is stored there for the infants and the other milk is for children with allergies or dietary needs.
Outside: Outdoor play equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and is age appropriate. Toddler play yard: LPA observed a large play structure with two slides securely anchored in the ground with a canopy for shade and a rubber mat as a cushioned surface. There is concrete, sand, and a grass area for active play. The playground was observed to be free of debris. Drinking water is available in the form of bottled water and labeled or disposable cups. Representative stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA did not observe any. There was an outdoor bathroom with three toilets, and three sinks. Preschool play yard: There was a standing basketball hoop, canopy for shade, grass, sand box area, play house, grass, and toys and another play yard with large play structure, two slides, rubber mat for cushion, concrete for play, garden boxes, and bikes. LPA did not observe any debris. The fencing is wrought iron, observed locked and is secure around the entire playground.
