32 | All outdoor and indoor passageways were observed to be free of obstruction. The child care center was observed be clean, safe, sanitary. Floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean. A comfortable temperature for children was observed be maintained at all times. The infant care center was observed to be equipped with appropriate furniture and equipment including, but not limited to, cribs, mats; and changing tables. Tables and chairs were observed to be meet the needs of the children. Furniture was observed to be maintained in good repair and safe condition.
The type, height and size of furniture and equipment was observed to be age appropriate. No swings or play yards were observed during visit.
Toys were observed to be safe, and without sharp points or edges or splinters, or be made of small parts that can be pulled off and swallowed. Rattles were observed to be large enough so that they cannot become lodged in an infant's throat and constructed so that they will not separate into small pieces.
LPA observed individual portable storage space for children’s clothing, personal belongings and/or bedding. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, were observed to be free of toxic substances.
Drinking water from a noncontaminating fixture or container shall be readily available both indoors and in the outdoor activity area. LPA advised per Health and Safety Code 1597.16(a)(1) Lead Testing and PIN-21-21-CCP Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test. Per Facility Representative facility water lead testing was completed in May 2022 and documents were sent into El Segundo Regional Office to their assigned Licensing Program Analyst.
Facility has a pest control service to help take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. Trash containers were observed with tight fitting lids and in good repair. Fireplaces and open-faced heaters shall be made inaccessible to children to ensure children's safety.
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children were observed to be stored where inaccessible to children. LPA observed a current edition of a first-aid manual, sterile first-aid dressings, bandages or roller bandages, adhesive tape, scissors, tweezers,
