32 | Heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated by LPAs Ortega and Rivera. LPAs observed central AC/heater in the classrooms (1,2,3, and 4). LPAs observed ductless mini split AC in classrooms (5,6,7 and 8). LPA observed the classrooms temperatures to be between 71-72 degrees. LPAs observed the fire extinguishers in all classrooms and observed the valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguishers indicating fully charged and serviced on 9/7/2023. Smoke detectors were tested during this inspection dual detectors. Carbon monoxide detectors located in the classrooms and LPA Rivera tested the detectors and are operable. LPA observed napping equipment cribs and cots to be in good condition. Per Site Supervisor, the isolation area takes place in the Director’s office and the staff restroom is also utilized for isolation. Site Supervisor stated medication is only administered to a child when accompanied with a doctor's note and medication is stored inside the classroom cabinets along with first aid kit. LPA Rivera asked if there are any poisons, firearms, weapons or bodies of water. Director stated she has no firearms, weapons, no poisons nor bodies of water on the premises. LPAs did not observe firearms or weapons, poisons, nor bodies of water.
This program provides breakfast, lunch and p.m., snack. Meals are prepared on site. A monthly menu is available and posted in the parent’s board and classrooms. For water drinking, facility utilizes water pitcher and refills children’s bottles and zippy cups. LPA observed the food preparation area to be clean and free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin and storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins with tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents. There is hot running water in the kitchen food preparation area.
Site Supervisor Karla Perez has Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification dated 2/11/2022, preventative health and safety training dated 3/11/2021, child abused mandated certification (AB 1207) dated 8/18/2023 and has proof of immunization against pertussis, and measles, and influenza declination. Director has been informed mandated reporter training must be completed every 2 years, and is available at www.mandatedreporterca.com
Site Supervisor Karla was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
