25 | On 05/06/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cristina Castellanos conducted an unannounced case management inspection at the above-mentioned facility for the purpose of ensuring that standards are being met in accordance with California Tittle 22 Regulations and California Health and Safety Codes.
Upon arrival LPA Castellanos met with Preschool Teacher/Site Supervisor M. Gutierrez and discussed the purpose of the visit. LPA toured the facility both indoors and outdoors and observed 15 children in care, being supervised and cared for appropriately by 2 fingerprint cleared staff members. At approximately 1:30pm Director Tia Belt-Brown arrived at the facility and met with LPA Castellanos, then shortly left at 1:53pm. Present during today’s inspection were Site Supervisor M. Gutierrez and Instructional Aide M. Cornejo.
LPA Castellanos observed only classroom no. 5 being utilized by the preschool program. LPA asked Site Supervisor if classroom no. 4 was still being used by the Lawndale Elementary TK/K program or empty. Site Supervisor Gutierrez informed LPA that classroom no. 4 was still being used by Lawndale Elementary TK/K program and further stated that the Lawndale Elementary TK/K program last day in classroom no. 4 would be June 10, 2024, the last day of instruction.
During today’s inspection LPA Castellanos observed 23 children, a TK/K Teacher and a Site Substitute in classroom no. 4 for the Lawndale Elementary School District (LESD).
LPA previously had conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 01/18/2024 and Informed Director Belt-Brown and Site Supervisor Gutierrez that any classrooms initially licensed through our department and is no longer being used requires to be reported to the department to see if the capacity initially licensed for needed to be updated to meet Title 22 regulations.
Based on observations, the facility did not comply with requirements on Limitations on Capacity section 101161(a) A licensee shall not operate a child care center beyond the conditions and limitations specified on the license, including the |
