32 | Kitchen/Dining Room: The kitchen was inspected to ensure hazardous and dangerous items were inaccessible to children (Safety latches). In the kitchen, all sharp utensils, poisons, and medications are made inaccessible to children with child safety latches on cabinet doors and drawers. Cleaning supplies are under the sink and knives are in the drawer to the left of the sink, it is made inaccessible with magnet locks. Backyard: The backyard was inspected; The backyard (cement, dirt, artificial grass) is completely fenced. There are two swing sets (anchored), a gated area on the left and rear section - off-limits, Little Tikes play equipment, garden, marry-go-round, other age-appropriate toys, and a large shade-covered area. The play area is clear and clean of debris; the play area is fenced and gated all around, and there is no body of water on the premises.
Overnight care: According to the Licensee, overnight care will not be provided.
Off-limit: Off-limit areas include the licensee’s office, bedroom (#2,3 and 4), and bathroom (#2 and #3), which are located to the right of the childcare bathroom (key lock). The private section of the property has one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen.
Others: An AC/Heating unit is located on the right side of the home and is inaccessible to children, with barrels blocking access. All unused electrical outlets are plugged and inaccessible to children. The licensee provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks. A required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) was observed in the kitchen. It is reading in the green zone, inaccessible to children, and meets standards established by the State Fire Marshal. If a child shows signs of illness, they will be separated from other children and stay in Bedroom #1. Medications are kept in an off-limits bedroom. Children will nap under adult supervision in designated areas like the family room. LPA observed 5 cribs and 11 cots stored in bedroom #1. The household has 2 dogs and have current vaccinations. Per the Licensee, the dogs do not interact with day care children. The home has a working landline and cell phone.
Documentation Review:
Child Files: LPA reviewed 4 children's records. The files contain all necessary licensing documents with parents’ signatures.
Infant Sleeping Plan (LIC 9227) and Sleeping Log: infant has LIC 9227 forms, and their sleeping log was in place by the Safe Sleep Regulation.
Staff Personnel File: During the inspection, LPA reviewed 1 staff file, which included LIC 508, LIC 9052, immunization records, a TB test, LIC 9108, Mandated Reporter Training, and CPR/First Aid certificates. All required documents were in place. |
