During the interview with the Director, it was disclosed that Child 1 and Child 2 had ongoing issues involving headlice. Child 1 and Child 2 were detected for having headlice on three separate occasions, apart from one another. Wellness checks for headlice were conducted once a week, prior to the incidents involving Child 1 and Child 2. After discovering the initial case involving Child 1 in July of 2023, the Director stated that the facility began conducting daily wellness checks (in the AM) to ensure the health and safety of children and to also minimize the spread of headlice. On 8/1/23, Child 2 was detected for headlice. Per the Director, the children do not share blankets. The children bring their own linens every Monday and the linens are sent back home every Friday to be washed. Each Child has their own cubby which their items are stored separately. Upon discovering that a child has lice, the facility notifies the parents (via letter and/or verbally) and staff disinfect/clean the entire area, including the beds and carpet. Per the Director, There were a total of three children who were detected for headlice, during three separate occasions, apart from one another.
