Personal Rights - Staff are not preventing day care children from having exposure to a hazardous items at the facility.

On 08/01/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrew Alemoh arrived at the facility for the purpose to conclude a compliant investigation. Upon arrival LPA met with Team Lead Lupe Joven. LPA toured the facility, observed 33 daycare children and 5 staff members. At the time of visit on 05/15/2024 LPAs observed a toy kitchen set in the classroom area to which was observed to have a nail sticking out. During the time of the visit Director Rubi did remove the kitchen set out of the classroom and away from the daycare children. No other hazardous or unsafe materials were observed in the classroom area.

During the course of interviews conducted it was determined that the day care children had broken the play equipment kitchen set however were still able to continue to play on the kitchen set.

The facility is being cited Type B deficiencies according to the California Code Title 22 Regulations. See page 809D.

The facility director had removed the toy kitchen set from the classroom on the day of: 05/15/2024. Per director statements staff will continuously check on all play equipment to ensure proper safety for the children.

 LPAs observed the toy kitchen set in the classroom to contain a nail that was sticking out. This poses immediate health, safety, or personal rights risk to children in care.
