The facility is a two-story house. All rooms upstairs are off limits, and a metal gate is barricading the entrance upstairs. There is no fireplace in the facility. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, fire/earthquake drills were conducted on July 1, 2025, at 9:30 A.M.
Safe and age-appropriate toys, jigsaw puzzles, painting stuff for older kids, fire trucks toys, big Legos, toy cars, coloring books and hard cover children’s books were observed during the inspection. LPA also observed sleeping mats for children to use during napping. The emergency first aid kit box is stored in the panty in the living room.
Licensee is advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. LPA did not observe razors and/or sharp objects, shampoo, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will pose a health and safety risk to children in care.
Licensee stated that when a child shows signs of illness while at the day care, he/she is separated from other children in the living room of the facility.
Outdoor: Outdoor: The facility has a body of water on the premises. LPA observed an in-ground swimming pool. The gate is self-closing and has a safety lock. During the LPA’s inspection at the outdoor area, LPA observed the following: 1) a life ring with 20 inches in diameter and has a United States Coast Guard approval label, 2) A rescue pole with a body hook that is at least 12 feet long, and 3) a pool alarm that is compliant with ASTM International Standard F2208.LPA observed toy house, trampoline, caterpillar tunnel, water play tables, and a small saucer pool in the side of the facility. Licensee was advised to empty water play tables and the small saucer pool after every use. Licensee showed a copy of the daily log inspection for the pool.
