25 | On 05/07/2024 at 9:30AM. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrew Alemoh were greeted by above facility’s Director Jacqeueline Major. LPA was at the facility to conduct an unannounced random annual inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the visit and was granted entry to the facility by Director, who also guided LPA on a tour of the facility.
The facility's hours of operation Monday through Friday from 7AM to 6PM. The facility provides snacks and optional hot meals which are provided through the School Day Cafe. Per the Director, the facility does not transport any preschool children in care.
For preschool care, the facility uses the Alligator Room and Lamb Room which are identified as Alligator Front, Alligator Back, Lamb Front, and Lamb Back as they are divided by a moveable wall. Per the Director, these walls are always in place, dividing the two sections of these classrooms. The facility also uses the Bunny Room, Penguin Room, Bear Room, and the Duck Room.
Furniture and equipment were inspected for operable conditions and age appropriateness. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. LPA observed individual storage for children's belongings. All kitchen areas are off-limits, kitchen area was adequately equipped, clean, and free from hazards (Bunny room had a safety gate barricading the kitchen area). The kitchen has a sink, refrigerator, and freezer. Menu was posted, dated, and accessible for parent’s review. The facility's food allergy list is posted inside of each classroom. Children are provided with cots for nap time, and bedding is brought from home.
Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected. Toilets flush properly; toilets and sinks are reachable by the children. LPA inspected and observed a total of 10 toilets, 20 sinks, and two urinals, all of which were in operable condition and met the Title 22 requirements. Director stated staff had a separate restroom which was inaccessible to children, and located to the left of the Director's office.
