LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry area and 2 detached garages.

The areas that are accessible to children: Living room, dining area, bathroom #1, #2, kitchen, laundry area, backyard and detached garage that has been converted into the main day care area. Licensee is aware that children will only do daily activities in the converted garage. Eating, sleeping and toileting are conducted in the main house.

The areas that are off limits to children: Bedrooms #1, #2, #3, bathroom #3, detached garage closet to the alley and left side of the back yard where the dogs are kept.

No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children.

There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in the kitchen and converted garage (main day care) serviced on 4/18/2023. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has a wall heater and fireplace that is screened and inaccessible to children. There are no stairs in the home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (323) 571-2624.

Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 4/21/2022. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid was completed on 3/27/2022. A review of records indicates that Licensee have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Safe Sleep - LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at:https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

MyChildCarePlan.org – Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.

An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report was read and provided to the Licensee. This report shall me made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit was provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
