25 | On 12/13/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lillian Casillas conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Esther Begun, and explained the purpose of the visit. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 2:15pm. LPA observed 12 children and 2 assistants (cleared and associated to the facility).
During today's inspection, LPA conducted a tour of the inside and outside of the facility. This is a single-story single family home with 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The facility was licensed to use the rear of the house and backyard. Children do not have access to the main house (bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and bathroom 2 and bathroom 3). Children enter the facility through the side gate. Upon entry, LPA entered the backyard. The backyard is large and fully enclosed with shade, climbing structures on padded flooring, bikes, age-appropriate toys, and learning materials. Licensee stated children sleep on cots in the backroom. Bathroom 1 is located in rear room and includes 1 toilet and 1 sink. The 2A10:BC extinguisher is secured to the wall in the rear room. Licensee stated children bring their own snacks, lunch, and water. Children eat on the patio area in the backyard on children's tables. LPA observed a functioning smoke/carbon monoxide detector and first-aid kit in the rear room.
Facility does not provide care to infants. Facility was observed to be operating within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. LPA reviewed Licensee's file to be complete: CPR and Pediatric First-Aid expires 8/2024 and Mandated Reporter training expires 8/2023. LPA reviewed a sample of 5 children’s files and observed files were complete.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Upon notification from the Department, the
