As of September 1, 2016, SB 792, prohibits a person from being employed or volunteering at a childcare facility or family day care if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis and measles. LPA discussed the influenza waiver during the visit.
The licensee was informed of The Child Care Advocate Program (CCAP) that is administered from within the Community Care Licensing Division. CCAP participates in many community activities and special projects in order to disseminate information on the State’s licensing role, provide information to the public and parents on childcare licensing, and provide many other helpful resources to the licensees and the public. LPA reviewed a total of five staff files there were two files that were not reviewed due to HR needs to organize the files. Out of the files only three teaching staff will need the mandated reporter training to renew it. All Teaching staff were current with the First Aide& CPR. For the immunization records that were reviewed only two teachers will need to turn in their immunization record. LPAspoke to the Director to send in documentation. LPA reviewed a total of 10 children c files which were complete
There were no bodies of water observed in the playground area. The outdoor playground was inspected and was observed to be free of hazards, loose and sharp parts. LPA did observe enough shade. The playground was observed to be properly gated all around. Equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. LPA observed a gated patio for sitting for children. LPA observed play equipment securely anchored for safety.
The following forms were observed to be posted. The facility license, Parent's Rights Poster (PUD 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610). All medication is stored in lock box in each classroom. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
