25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Roberto Luque Avila conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 12/17/2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 09:30AM, identified self and met with Sheila Apostol, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA provided Licensee with a copy of the LIC 126 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. LPA observed 7 children 1 staff upon arrival. Per Licensee, operation hours are 7AM to 5PM. There are 10 children that are currently enrolled. The licensee is observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted.
The home is one-story which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, office, kids room, garage, and fenced front yard and backyard. The children use the bathroom #2 in the hall next to the living room. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children are: Bedroom #1, #2, and #3, bathroom #1, and garage these areas are made inaccessible by locked doors and child safety gates. The licensee provides food for children in care.
All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service a cellphone that is used and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating via central air. Safe toys, play equipment and materials were observed.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home.
