25 | On 11/3/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Gabriela Garcia-Armenta. LPA observed 5 children in care today with Licensee, 2 assistant and Licensee Spouse. All adults have a criminal record clearance. Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home with living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry room and covered outdoor patio and attached converted garage.
The areas that are accessible to children: Bedrooms 1 and 2, living room, dining area, covered patio, kitchen and bathroom. Daily activities are conducted in the patio area. LPA reminded licensee that eating, toileting and sleeping is not allowed in the patio area. Licensee provides care and supervision while children are playing in the backyard. LPA observed 2 storage units in the back yard.
The areas that are off limits to children: Attached converted garage. The garage made inaccessible by a safety gate.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children.
There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in the kitchen serviced on 9/22/2023. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. LPA observed first aid kit. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 528-0568.
