25 | On December 7, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz, conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with Assistant, Crystal Mora who guided LPA on a tour of the home. Upon arrival licensee was out and returned about 20 minutes later. People who reside in the home are the Licensee and her spouse who are live scanned and have TB skin test on file, and their 2 minor children (10, 13). Upon arrival, LPA observed 8 children in care with 2 assistants. The large family childcare home operates Monday – Friday 6:30am-6:00pm. Incidental Medical Services were discussed. Per licensee, there are no children in care that require IMS at this time.
This is a one story 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with kitchen, dining room, children's dining room, family room and garage. There is an above ground pool on the premises in the backyard that is surrounded by a gate that is at least 5 feet high. The gate is self-latching and self-closing and swings away from the pool area. There is a lock on the latch that is less than 6 inches from the top of the gate. There are no climbable structures or other items adjacent to the fencing. Per licensee, a cover will be placed over the pool for best practices. Per licensee, the kitchen, all bedrooms, living room, and garage are off-limits. LPA observed safety gates in place that make all off-limits areas inaccessible and garage door has a safety knob. Per licensee, 100% supervision is provided to children in care at all times.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Medications are stored in the hall closet inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are stored in kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children in care. Cleaning compounds are stored in an upper kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children.
The First Aid kit is located in the daycare room on the wall inaccessible to children. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA did not observe any weapons or firearms. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. The Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC) is fully charged and green and meets the standards of the State Fire Marshal.
