32 | The bathroom and toileting areas were inspected, LPA observed toilets and sinks to accommodate the facility’s capacity. Facility is equipped with three toilets and three sinks located in the Pre-K classroom. Toilets flush properly, toilet and sinks are reachable by the children in care. The bathroom has adequate toilet paper and paper towels available. LPA observed the hot water to be turned off. The bathroom was found to be clean. There is adequate lighting/ventilation in the bathroom area.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe.
There are 2 play yards; the front yard is used for younger preschoolers and the rear yard is designated for Pre-Kindergarten preschoolers. Both areas were observed to be free of debris. There are areas for shade and rest on both yards. Drinking water is available. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. There is wood and chain link fences around the playgrounds.
The Director is reporting that the kitchen is not used for food preparation. Parents provide food and snacks. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. LPA observed water dispensers in all classrooms and in all play areas.
Prescription and non-prescription medication is administered by the director, who documents the date, time and dosage onto a log. Medications are stored securely and inaccessible to children in the director's office which has a refrigerator if needed.
