25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Silva Garibyan conducted an unannounced case management inspection on 01/21/2025. LPA arrived at the facility at 10:45 AM and met with Jeannine Pignotti, Director, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. There were 29 children and seven staff present upon arrival.
When interviewed Director, Jeannine Pignotti, explained to LPA that she learned over the weekend of October 19 that a child in Pre-K had lice. She shared that information with the whole school that same weekend as well as the plan to have someone come to school to check heads the following Tuesday. Director also called Health Department and they said not to submit a report with fewer than five cases. They had four and that count includes a child that had casings but no bugs. Director did not report four (4) cases of head lice to Community Care Licensing Division. The following Type B deficiency is being cited on 01/21/2025 in accordance to Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations:
101212(d)(1)(E)- Reporting Requirements
Upon the occurrence, during the operation of the child care center of any of the events specified in (d)(1) below, a report shall be made to the Department by telephone or fax within the Department's next working day and during its normal business hours. In addition, a written report containing the information specified in (d)(2) below shall be submitted to the Department within seven days following the occurrence of such event.
(1) Events reported shall include the following:
(E) Epidemic outbreaks.
Exit interview conducted with and a copy of this Report (LIC 809 and LIC 809-D), Notice of Site Visit, and Appeal Rights (LIC 9058), was provided and explained to Jeannine Pignotti, Director.
