25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), V. Wheatley met with licensee Ava Brown at 9:15am for the purpose of conducting a case management inspection. The licensee is requesting a decrease in capacity from 27 infants to 20 (4 infants and 16 toddlers). The licensee is also decreasing this license to increase a separate preschool license. The infant license is for ages 6 weeks to 2 years old and the toddler license is for ages
18 months to 36 months.
LPA observed 4 infants on the premises today on the playground upon arrival and supervised by staff. LPA observed the facility operating in accordance with the Los Angeles County Public Health Guidelines in regards to Covid-19. LPA observed signs posted, sanitizing station at the front door and temperature checks. There is a camera monitoring children and staff on the premises.
The infant room is being relocated in the facility to the middle classroom in the building. There are two rooms that are back to back. One room will be used for activity space and the other room will be used for napping. One of the rooms was used as the licensee's office but will be used for napping. The applicant is planning to install a door between the two rooms to make it more convenient.
LPA measured the rooms and they both measured for 135 square feet = 4 infants.
The current infant room on the west side of the building is being converted into the toddler component. There are two classroom areas in these rooms. LPA measured both of the rooms which measured for 342 square feet = 10 toddlers and 207 square feet = 6
Total toddler component = 16 toddlers/children.
The classrooms were inspected by the Los Angeles Fire Department and granted a fire clearance. The facility is equipped with fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors. |
