25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Andrew Alemoh met with Licensee Michelle Marie, and assistant #1, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for the One Year Required Inspection. Operation hours are 24 hours. This is a one story 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home with kitchen,dining room area, family room, and detached garage. There is no pool on the premises. Upon arrival LPA observed 3 children with the licensee and Assistant #1.
Physical Plant: Main care is provided in the classroom that is down the hall past the kitchen. Children use the bathroom in hallway on the left. Children have access to the toddler room, classroom, children's bathroom,and dinning room (toddler room). Off limit area includes 2 of the home’s bedrooms (child lock), front yard, kitchen(barricaded with a black gate), garage and backyard. (Licensee stated backyard has been off limits due to a new playground being built). In exchange licensee takes day-care children out on nature walks, as well as to the park.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (locked under the sink), no medicines, and hazardous items (sharp knives inaccessible to children by having them on top kitchen cabinet with lock) that can pose a danger to children. The home has no fireplace. The home has safe and age-appropriate toys, play equipment and materials. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, and Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC) are in operable condition. Per Licensee no one smokes in the home. No baby bouncer’s saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys or sleep/ play equipment were observed on the premises. There is a designated area for ill children as necessary in the toddler room. Per Licensee there are no weapon/firearms in the home. LPA's advised licensee that all electrical outlets must be inaccessible.
