25 | On August 20, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz, conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection at the facility. LPA was greeted by Licensee, Beatriz Andrade Trujillo who granted access and guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are Licensee, her spouse, and her adult son who are live scanned and have TB skin test on file and their minor children (9,14,17). The large family childcare home operates 23 hours, 7 days per week. Licensee was advised that a staff member must always be awake while children are awake. At the time of the visit, there were 5 children present with the licensee.
This is a one-story home with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and garage. Children have access to living room which is converted for childcare, bathroom near the bedrooms, and backyard. Off-limit areas of the home are all bedrooms, kitchen, laundry room, and garage. The bedrooms and closet near entrance are made inaccessible with safety knobs, the kitchen and dining room are made inaccessible with a safety gate, and the garage and laundry room are only accessible through the kitchen. There is no swimming pool/body of water on the premises. LPA observed several age-appropriate toys and activities in the childcare room and the backyard. LPA observed 2 dogs in the backyard behind a locked gate inaccessible to children. Per licensee, vaccines are kept up to date. LPA reviewed staff and children’s files. LPA provided LIC 126 and advised licensee to check all staff and children’s files to ensure all required documents are available. LPA observed employee files missing LIC 9052.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating, and ventilation. Medications are stored in an upper kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children. The kitchen knives are stored in the kitchen inaccessible to children. Cleaning compounds are stored in the childcare room on an upper shelf and the laundry room inaccessible to children.
The First Aid kit is located in the dining room on the wall inaccessible to children.
