32 | LPA Richmond conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the kitchen, and food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. Open food containers are labeled and dated appropriately. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair.
LPA Richmond reviewed 12 children’s files and observed files to be in compliance including current contact information for authorized representatives and/or relatives who can assume responsibility for the child, immunization records, and authorization for medical treatment.
LPA Richmond reviewed 9 personnel files and observed files to include immunizations for personnel in childcare, and at least one employee with current pediatric CPR/First Aid. LPA observed 3 of 9 staff files missing mandated reporter training completion certificates. LPA advised mandated reporter training to be completed every two years as needed. Type B citation cited. See LIC 809D.
CCC COMPLETED LEAD TESTING in March 2025. LPA Richmond verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance with Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. Director provided LPA with print out of lead testing results for file.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
LPA Richmond reminded Director to access the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov for access to Provider Information Notices (PINs), Quarterly Updates, COVID-19 Information and Resources, Mandated Reporter Training, Safe Sleep in Child Care, Lead Poisoning Facts, Forms and Regulations. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms.
