On 2/24/22 at 11:15 am Licensing Program Analyst Lisa Rios went to the Raphael Family Child Care home for a capacity increase inspection for a large family child care . The facility has a completed 850 Fire Inspection report, a pull down fire alarm with light was added, no corrections are needed to the home. Days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm serving children 2 years-6 years old.

LPA Rios completed a tour of the home inside and outside as well. The children enter in the morning through a front yard in the front of the of the house. There are Covid-19 posters on an easel in the front next to the table for signing in along with a wellness station that ahs masks, hand sanitizer and a thermometer for temperature checks. The licensee will increase capacity for 14 children and a flyer was given to show how many children and their ages can be admitted to care.

Child care is provided in the two front yards and the den has been made into a classroom. There is a single bathroom just past the den. Inside and outside the home has substantial toys and equipment for the increase in children. LPA Rios stated that licensee could reopen the sand box located in the first front yard due to Covid-19 restrictions being lifted regarding stable cohorts and social distancing per PIN 23-03-CCP dated 2/8/22. Masks are no longer required to be worn while outside but at all times when inside. There are numerous tables and chairs both inside and outside for eating. The rear portion of the house, the backyard, and the basement are all off limits from children in care and made inaccessible with locked doors and a locked gate. . There are 14 mats for all children to nap on.

A copy of this report will be given to the licensee and a new license will be emailed and sent in the mail.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
