32 | Staff-infant ratio requirements are being met while infants are sleeping. Upon entry to the classrooms LPA observed a small kitchen area and inaccessible to children. LPA observed food preparation area equipped with bottle warmers, clean storage area, and free of litter. LPA observed labeled trays with infants’ food in refrigerator. LPA observed Furniture was found to be in good repair and age appropriate. No baby walkers and bouncers are on the premises. There is adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. Drinking water is readily available in the classroom. LPA observed separate clear containers labeled with each child's name for diapers and snacks. Parents provide the diapers and snacks.
Inspection of the outdoor play area was conducted. Play equipment was inspected and found in good repair. Infants use separate play area from preschool. Drinking water is readily available for the infants. There is adequate shade for the children in care. Fencing around the perimeter of the play area is at least 4 feet high. Playground is free from miscellaneous debris such as tree branches, trash, leaves. LPA inspected area for hazards, safety and age-appropriate play equipment.LPA reviewed a total of 9 staff files. All staff were current on their Mandated Reporter Training and First Aid. LPA reviewed 10 children files all files has current required documentation. LPA discussed with the Director about the Infant Needs And Services Plan and regulation 101419.2(a) LPA reviewed a total of 9 staff files. There were no bodies of water observed.
LPA reminded that it is the facility responsibility to know the regulations as well as anyone who assists in providing care. Site supervisor was advised on how to access quarterly reports, forms, and regulations for Child Care online at www.cdss.ca.gov. LPA also advised to read the Child Care quarterly updates every season as the come out to stay informed of any changes or updates to the regulations. LPA informed the Child Care Advocate Program (CCAP) provide many other helpful resources to the licensees and the public. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.
