25 | On 5/7/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and was met by Licensee, Lisset Gutierrez. LPA observed 6 children in care with Assistant. All adults have a criminal record clearance. The facility operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm. The facility has liability insurance. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained during today's inspection.
LPA toured inside and outside the facility. This is a 2 story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, loft/office, family room/living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry area and upper detached garage.
The areas that are accessible to children: Family room, living room, dining area, bathroom #1 located downstairs adjacent to the family room and backyard for outdoor activities. The areas that are off limits to children: The entire upstairs area. The stairs are made inaccessible by safety gate. The living room, kitchen and laundry area. The detached garage is also off-limits.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed the FCCH has 1 firearm stored in a Honeywell key locked box located upstairs in bedroom #1 inaccessible to children. The firearm has a trigger lock. The ammunition is stored in a separate combination safety box stored in the loft/office area closet inaccessible to children. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. LPA observed a fireplace in the living made inaccessible to children. LPA observed an empty fountain in the backyard.
There is a fully charged fire extinguisher located in the kitchen. The facility has a working smoke detector and carbon inside the home that was tested and working properly. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys, materials and play equipment observed. The facility has 2 First aid kits located in the home.
