25 | On 10/10/2023 Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA), Suzette Ornelas, conducted an announced capacity increase and an unannounced Annual Required Inspection. LPA was met by Licensee who guided LPA on a tour of the home. All documents required for a capacity increase of 14 children ages 1.5years to 5years have been submitted to the department. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA observed 6 children and 4 adults. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the living room, bedroom 1, bathroom located in bedroom 1 and the front yard are on limits and accessible to children in care. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of locked doors and supervision. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The First Aid kit was observed and complete. Per LIS the facility annual fees are current. The facility roster was observed, and current. There are age appropriate toys and napping equipment on the premises. The required fire extinguisher (2A 10BC) has been purchased within the last year. Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors are in operable condition and tested by licensee. Facility provides daily meals for the children. Licensee has posted as required the License, and all other required postings in a visible location. Per licensee, bedroom 1 will be used as the isolation area.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Outdoor play area is fenced in. Home does have a swimming pool that is fenced located in the off limits backyard. The fence is at least 5 feet high with a self-latching gate that opens away from the pool or body of water. Fireplace located in the on limits living room has been made inaccessible to children in care by a glass screen.
There is currently 1 infant in care. Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. |
