25 | On January 26, 2024 at 08:20 A.M., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brittanee Cleveland and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Raul Navarro arrived at facility, Galostian Family Child Care, to conduct a unannounced annual inspection to ensure the health, safety, and personal rights as required by Title 22 Regulations and Health and Safety Code governing California Child Care Facilities will be met. Licensee submitted application for a capacity increase, which is the purpose of inspection. Licensee qualifies for a capacity increase due to being licensed for over a year. A fire clearance was approved on January 05, 2024. After identifying self, LPA was met by Karineh Galostian, Licensee, and provided a copy of the Entrance Checklist. LPA was guided on a tour of facility by Licensee.
Upon arrival, LPA observed four students. Per Licensee, hours of operation is Monday to Friday 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Areas used by the children include the den/childcare area, living room, bathroom, and backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children in care include the three bedrooms, one bathroom, dining area, kitchen, front yard and garage.
Criminal record clearance was verified by records given to LPA and LPM.
While conducting the tour, Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Licensee informed LPA and LPM that the living room space is the sleeping area for children. Each child has a name tag on cots and all blankets are washed weekly. There is a playroom near kitchen that is secured by a mesh gate to prevent access to the kitchen. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids or solid waste bags shall be discarded immediately after each meal. All electrical outlets are covered. All doorknobs are covered by protectors. --- Page 1
