25 | On 9/19/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loyce Phillips conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection with Applicants, Ronyee and Kevin Cox. Licensees lives with 1 adult daughter and 3 minor children. This inspection is due to an application received for a small family childcare license. Applicants guided LPA on a tour of the home and intends to operate up to 24 hours. Applicants intends to provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and am/pm snacks to children.
Applicants does not currently have child-care insurance. This is multi unit. Applicant resides in unit #3. The areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with living room, dining area and kitchen.
Areas that are accessible to children are as follows: Living room, dining area, bathroom #2 and backyard area.
The off-limits areas are as follows: Bedroom #1, #2, #3 and #4, bathroom #1 and parking lot located downstairs. All bedrooms are made inaccessible by key door locks. Children will play in the back yard. LPA observed materials, toys and equipment for outdoor activities.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service. The home has portable fans. Poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medication and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. LPA observed age appropriate safe toys inside. Applicants advised; children will nap on cots. Applicants has a working smoke detector that was tested and operating. Medications are stored in the medicine cabinet located in bathroom #1. Knives were observed in an upper kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children. Cleaning products are kept under the kitchen sink cabinet inaccessible to children.
