Physical Plant: The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, medicines and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The children have access to the kitchen.
The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are in operable condition (tested at 9:36 A.M.). The facility has a 3-A:40-B:C type of fire extinguisher. Licensee stated that she does not own firearms. Per licensee, no one smokes in the facility. LPA observed cleaning products are stored in the laundry room. Per licensee, there were other cleaning products that are stored in the garage. Knives are stored inside an aluminum tray in the top right upper kitchen cabinets. LPA observed household medications are stored on the upper shelf of the kitchen pantry with a child safety lock. No medications are currently being provided to the children in care. The licensee provides meals and snacks to children.
The facility is a two-story house. All rooms upstairs are off-limits. There is a fireplace in the facility, and it has a glass door, and it is also blocked by a cubby. The home has central heating and air conditioning units.
Based on records review, the fire/earthquake drills were conducted last August 20, 2025, at 2:00 P.M.
LPA observed safe and age-appropriate toys, learning toys, kitchen toys, toy house, cubbies, books, dolls, table, chairs, diaper changing table, and a crib. LPA also observed sleeping mats inside the closet next to the laundry room.
LPA observed the first aid kit bag is on the cubby. Per licensee, all electrical outlets are child proof and there is no need to install safety plugs.
The licensee is advised that baby bouncers, saucer chairs, or any recalled and or banned toys or sleep/ play equipment are prohibited on the premises. Licensee is advised to check for fixture, furniture and equipment that have been banned or recalled by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Bathroom: Toilet, sink and faucet were clean and operable. LPA did not observe razors and/or sharp objects, shampoos, mouthwash, medications, perfumes, air freshener, nail polish and nail remover that will
