On 7/18/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Carol Heath conducted an unannounced follow-up complaint inspection at the Thames Family Child Care and met with License Audrey Thames. The purpose of the inspection was to deliver the complaint finding for the above complaint allegations.
During today’s visit, LPA observed 4 children present with the licensee and 1 assistant.
During the course of the investigation of this complaint, LPA Heath observed the facility and conducted interviews with the licensee and other related parties. The interviews revealed inconsistencies in the explanations for the incident that happened in the facility. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the licensee and her assistants hit the child, threatened the daycare child, pushed, and handled children in a rough manner. Also, there is not enough evidence to prove the licensee locked the child in a room, made inappropriate comments, forced the child to eat, withhold water, and allowed children bullied by each other. Therefore, the above allegations are unsubstantiated.
No deficiencies were cited. An exit interview was conducted, and A copy of this report was discussed and left with Licensee, Audrey Thames.
