32 | Children's bathroom: Children use the bathroom located in the hallway on the left-hand side. The bathroom was clean, sanitized, and in good repair. The bathroom was toured and inspected sink and toilet which is in operable condition. LPA observed a key lock on the bottom of the bathroom sink.
Kitchen/Dining Room: The kitchen has a physical barrier(safety gate). Sharp items are located in an upper cabinet with a safety latch. Per licensee, she does currently have a food program. Meals offered: Breakfast, AM Snack, Lunch, PM Snack and Dinner.
Fireplace: The fireplace is located in the living room and was observed to be properly barricaded.
Backyard/Outdoor areas: The backyard is fenced in with cement block fence. The outdoor play area was inspected and was observed to be free of hazards, lose or sharp parts and tools. LPA observed appropriate and safe toys in the play area. Per licensee, there are two dogs in the property that are kept in the backyard (off-limits). Vaccination records were observed for both pets.
The home has an in-ground pool, jacuzzi, and in-ground pond in the backyard. The pool fence measures at 4.8 in height, spacing between bars are 5 inches apart, and 2 inches from ground-cement. LPA informed licensee, the vertical spacing in between the bars must be no more than 4 inches apart, and the gate must measure at least 5 feet in height. Licensee plans to install chicken wire to shorten the distance from each vertical bar, and to increase the fence to measure at 5 feet in height.
The swimming pool gate runs from one end to the cement wall, to the right side of the other cement wall. There are two gates each self-closing and self-latching, and opens away from the bodies of water. The backyard is completely fenced (brick wall), shaded area and a patio. The play area is clear and clean of debris, the play area is fenced and gated all around.
LPA also observed the new pool requirements that came into effect on 01/01/25. LPA observed a life ring with a diameter of 20 inches and is labeled and approved by the United States Coastal Guard located on the pool gate. LPA also observed a rescue pole with a body hook at 9 feet. LPA informed licensee, the rescue pole must be at least 12 feet in length. Licensee purchased the ASTM International Standard F2208 pool alarm, and located inside of the bodies of water. LPA also observed licensee's daily pool log.
