25 | On March 20, 2024, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz, conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection initiated by the licensee. LPA met with Licensee, Ariacne Flores who guided LPA on a tour of the home. Licensee is requesting to change the accessible and off-limits areas of the home. People who reside in the home are the Licensee and her spouse who are live scanned and have TB skin test on file, and their 2 minor children (7, 9). Upon arrival, LPA observed 7 children in care with licensee. The large family childcare home operates Monday–Friday 5:00am-7:00pm.
This is a one story 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with kitchen, dining room, family room, laundry room, and garage. There is no pool/or body of water on the premises. The children have access to the childcare room, the living room, dining room, restroom in the childcare room, and the backyard. Note: the childcare area is a converted master bedroom. The off-limits area include bedroom #1, bedroom #2, the restroom between bedroom #1 and #2, kitchen, garage, office, laundry room, and side yards. The areas are made inaccessible with retractable gates and safety knobs. LPA observed licensee place a safety knob on restroom door near bedrooms #1 and #2 to make inaccessible. LPA observed a jacuzzi bathtub in the childcare room made inaccessible with a heavy platform that has cushioning. Per licensee, the cushioned hardtop is used as the changing area. LPA observed safety latches on all cabinets and drawers. LPA observed cleaning supplies in the toileting area made inaccessible with safety latches. Per licensee, personal items and cosmetics are kept in the restroom. LPA observed double safety latches on the drawers. LPA observed several age-appropriate toys and activities in the childcare room and backyard. LPA reminded licensee that pack n play used as crib can only be used for sleeping infant and observed licensee remove pillows and blankets from pack n play. LPA did not observe an infant in the crib at the time of the visit. LPA observed the first aid kit is located in the childcare restroom on the wall inaccessible to children.
The required documents were posted and located on the parent’s board in the childcare area: Notification of Parent's Rights Poster (PUB394), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610A), and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC9148). Per licensee, parent’s have access to childcare room.
