This is a two story home consisting of four bedrooms, three bathrooms, office, laundry room, kitchen, dinning room, living room, playroom, lounge area, attached garage and front and back yard. The off-limits areas are: the entire second floor of the home (all bedrooms, master bathroom, bathroom 2, office, laundry room), attached garage. The off-limits areas have been made inaccessible via a child safety gate at the bottom of the stairs and the door leading to the garage has a dead bolt lock and a chime which rings when the door is opened.

On limit areas:

Dining Room: This area is located on the first floor of the home. The area had a child size table and four chairs. Per applicant, the dining room will be utilized as the napping area. LPA observed two exersaucers and an inclined sleeper in this area. Applicant stated she is aware that items can not be utilized by the childcare children or her children during child care hours. There is a bar area in this room. LPA expressed that alcohol must be inaccessible to the child care children. Applicant stated she understood.

Kitchen: This area is located on the first floor of the home. All sharp utensils and cutlery, cleaning supplies, drawers, and cabinets with plastic bags, and sharp things or small things children can swallow; were made inaccessible with child safety locks. The chemicals were stored in the cabinet under the kitchen sink which was equipped with a child safety lock. Knives were stored in an upper cabinet of the kitchen. The refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave, etc., were clean. The kitchen was clean, orderly, and free of hazardous items.

The First Aid kit: Located in the bathroom on the first floor of the home. The first aid kit was equipped with the required supplies at the time if this inspection.

Applicant was reminded that 100% supervision is required at all times to children in care. Applicant was advised how to access forms and Regulations for Family Child Care online at www.ccld.ca.gov. Applicant was made aware that it is he/her responsibility to know the regulations as well as anyone who assists in providing care. Applicant must have the facility’s phone number at all times; if the phone number is changed, licensing must be notified

Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

On January 1, 2018, or before March 30, 2018, a person who is a licensed childcare provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the online mandated reporter training and shall complete renewal mandated reporter training every two years. @www.mandatereporterca.com.

As a result of this inspection, the home requires the following to be completed: Firearms and ammunition must be locked and stored separately from each other, paint on the side of the home must be relocated, alcoholic beverages must be inaccessible, remove inclined sleeper and exersaucers from on limits areas, purchase a 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Applicant stated all corrections will be completed by March 17, 2022. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the applicant Ani Ekmekchyan.
