25 | On May 17, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Annelise Villa conducted a pre-licensing inspection with Applicant Brenda Lafargue, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a one-story house with 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, living room, and kitchen. There are no bodies of water on the premises. The adults residing in the home are applicant and one adult daughter.
The facility will operate Monday through Saturday providing care from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Sunday through Saturday, with a license capacity of 14 children. LPA went over the childcare ratios for a small family home with applicant and provided applicant a copy.
Main care will be provided in the living room area. Children will eat in the living room area. The day care children will utilize the bathroom on the right-hand side of the home. Children will use the back yard for outdoor play. Bedroom #1-2, bathroom #2, kitchen, and front yard are off limits to the day care children.
LPA observed day care area to be clean and orderly, central air and heating, age-appropriate toys and play equipment, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition.
LPA reminded applicant the children's bathroom must be free of shampoos, mouthwash, medication, perfumes, razor, air freshener, nail polish and polish remover. LPA observed a clean, safe and operable toilet and faucet.
LPA observed a fully charge 2A10BC fire extinguisher during the inspection located near entrance door. First aid kit is also stored in the kitchen. Per applicant, medications are stored in the kitchen in an upper cabinet and off limits to daycare children. Cleaning items are inaccessible to children stored in a hall closet which is off limits and made inaccessible with a magnetic safety latch.
