32 | LPA Garcia inspected the facility for safety, comfort, cleanliness, ventilation and working phone (cell phone). For ventilation, LPA Garcia observed central AC and the vents located on the ceiling. LPA observed the furniture, children’s materials, to be in good condition and age appropriate. The dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed in the ceiling of the kitchen. Licensee tested the dual smoke and carbon monoxide detector. LPA heard the sounds and is operable.
LPA observed a fully charge fire extinguisher during the inspection located near the entrance door, however purchase receipt was dated 6/25. Licensee's husband purchased new fire extinguisher new purchase date is 10/2/25. LPA Garcia observed the First aid kit is stored in the laundry room. LPA observed first aid kit complete with gauze, antiseptics, and bandages. License stated medications are stored in the licensee’s bedroom and off limits to daycare children.
Cleaning items are inaccessible to children stored under the kitchen cabinet and made inaccessible to the children with magnet locks. Kitchen: The kitchen was observed to be clean and orderly. The following are inaccessible: Sharp items are stored in a kitchen drawer, secure with magnet locks. LPA observed the refrigerator and freezer to be clean. LPA discuss with applicant food shall be properly stored or refrigerated in container that are labeled with child’s name when supplied by parent. The kitchen will be off limits to children in care. For water drinking, licensee stated he provides filtered water, and each child has their own labeled re-fillable cup. The licensee stated the facility provides breakfast, lunch and p.m. snacks and does not participate in a food program. Licensee stated she currently does not have any children with severe food allergies nor on medication.
LPA Garcia inspected the play outdoor (side yard) area that is utilized by children for safety, comfort, and cleanliness LPA observed it to be free of garden tools, poisonous plants, thorn trees cactus, or lawn mower inaccessible to children. The back yard is enclosed with a metal fence and wall. LPA observed the play equipment to be age appropriate and in a safe condition, free of sharp, no lose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards (artificial turf). For outdoor water drinking, children bring out their cups and refill as needed.
LPA Garcia entered the bathroom in bathroom #1 and observed the toilet, hand washing sink, hand soap and LPA observed the cabinet under the sink and did not observe hazardous cleaning materials to be stored in the under-sink cabinet. LPA observed shampoos and bodywash in the shower and informed licensee that they must be placed in a cabinet with child proof lock or in another restroom that the children do not have access to, LPA observed the restroom to be in good, operable condition.
