25 | On November 19, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz met with licensee, Earma White, who granted access and guided LPA on a tour of the home. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a pre-licensing inspection for a relocation. People who reside in the home are the licensee who have background clearance and TB Skin test on file. The licensee is requesting to operate as a large family childcare home. Days and hours of operation are Sunday through Monday, 23 hours per day. LPA reminded licensee that when children are awake someone must be awake with them. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed with the licensee. Per licensee, there are no children in care requiring IMS at this time.
This is a two-story family home. The home consists of four bedrooms, four bathrooms, kitchen, living room, formal living room, dining room, laundry room, loft, and garage. There is no body of water on the premises. The primary care will be conducted in the living room and formal living room. Children will have access to the living room, formal living room, dining room, the downstairs restroom, and the backyard. The off-limit areas of the home include the entire upstairs made inaccessible with a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs, the laundry room and garage made inaccessible with a safety gate, and the kitchen made inaccessible with a safety gate. LPA observed the side yard to the left gated to make it inaccessible. LPA observed cots for napping in the closet near the daycare area. LPA observed several age-appropriate toys and activities in the childcare area and the backyard. Per licensee, there are no pets on the premises and LPA did not observe any pets.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating, and ventilation. The kitchen knives are stored in the pantry. Cleaning compounds are stored under the kitchen sink and in the laundry room.
LPA observed fully stocked first aid kit located in the closet near the daycare areas on a top shelf inaccessible to children. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. LPA did not observe any weapons or firearms. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition.
