32 | Kitchen: LPA observed the kitchen for safe and sanitary conditions. The kitchen made inaccessible by a door that remains closed. The kitchen includes a refrigerator/freezer, sink, food preparation counters, and pantries. Per Director, meals are cooked and prepared in the kitchen. LPA observed menus updated as needed and an allergy list in kitchen.
Outdoor/Children’s Play Area: LPA observed three outdoor play areas for safety, cleanliness, good repair, age-appropriate toys/equipment, cushioned floors, and shady areas. All outdoor play areas enclosed by fencing and gates. Per Director, gates remain closed. Per LPA observation, there are no pools or spas on the premises.
File Review: LPA reviewed six staff files and verified fingerprint clearance of all staff present. Per record review, two out of six staff files did not include proof of immunizations (MMR, Tdap). LPA informed Director that all employed staff files must include proof of immunizations against pertussis, measles, and influenza. Director will provide proof of immunizations for all four staff files to the department by POC due date. A Type B citation issued.
Per record review, six staff files did not include proof of a Health Screening (LIC 503) verifying good physical health performed or under the supervision of a physician. All six staff files did include proof of TB testing. Director will ensure that all employed staff will complete a health screening and provide proof to the department by the POC due date. A Type B citation issued.
LPA reviewed five children files which contained all required documentation. The disaster drills last completed on 01/2026. Per record review, the lead testing for water last conducted on 10/03/2023.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
