Licensing Program Analysts' (LPA's) Maddox and Ayala conducted an unannounced visit today and met with Sandra Denkovski. Center has a licensed School age component (197418166) at this site, center is requesting to decrease the capacity for the School age component and add a Preschool component. Together we toured 3 classrooms, bathrooms, and the outside play area. Preschool children will occupy Room #1. Hrs of Oper: 6 am to 6 pm Mon - Fri

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:

· The child care center was toured and found to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors


· Floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean
· A comfortable temperature for children shall always be maintained.
· Furniture and equipment is maintained in good condition, free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. There are a variety of age-appropriate equipment, toys and materials in good condition and in sufficient quantity to allow children present to fully participate in planned activities.
· Tables and chairs shall be provided to meet the needs of the children.
· All play equipment and materials used by children were age appropriate.

· Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where inaccessible to children. Storage areas any hazardous items are kept locked.
· There are fully stocked first-aid kits in locations accessible to staff but inaccessible to children:
· The isolation are is located in the front office for any child who becomes ill during the day.
· The center has a working telephone on the premises.
· Center will use "Kangaroo Time" to sign children in and out daily
· The licensee shall be responsible for ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness including, but not limited to, fever or vomiting, are not accepted.
  • Center will use water pictures with disposable cups for drinking water

NAPPING

· Cots used for napping were maintained in a safe condition.


· Each cot or mat shall be equipped with a sheet to cover the cot or mat and, depending on the weather, a sheet and/or blanket to cover the child.
· Cots or mats should be wiped with a detergent/disinfectant weekly or when soiled or wet.
  • Children will store their bedding in cubbies within the classroom

RESTROOMS

All toilets, handwashing and bathing facilities were maintained in safe and

sanitary operating condition.

The Preschool classroom has 2 stalls (1 toilet in each) and four sinks

OUTDOOR

During this inspection, LPA's observed a trees on the play yard (no leaves at this time).

There are no bodies of water on the premises


HEALTH RELATED SERVICES:

Medications shall be kept in a safe place inaccessible to children.

A refrigerator shall be used to store any medication that requires refrigeration.

Licensee has implemented a written plan to record the administration of prescription and nonprescription medications and to inform the child's authorized representative daily when such medications have been given.

FOOD SERVICES

· All foods or beverages capable of supporting the rapid and progressive growth of microorganisms that can cause food infections or food intoxication's shall be stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F (7.2 degrees C) or less.


· Pesticides and other similar toxic substances were not stored in food storerooms, kitchen areas, food preparation areas, or areas where kitchen equipment or utensils are stored. Soaps, detergents, cleaning compounds or similar substances were stored in areas separate from food supplies.
· All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas shall be kept clean and free of litter and rubbish; and measures shall be taken to keep all such areas free of rodents and other vermin.

POSTINGS:

Signs are posted at the entrance to the child care center that provide the telephone number of the local health department and information on child passenger restraint systems pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 1596.95(g) and Vehicle Code sections 27360 and 27360.5

Each licensee shall have a disaster and mass casualty plan of action. The plan shall be in writing and shall be readily available.

Measurements taken today:

25 X 26 = 650 minus cabinet (4 X 2.9= 11.6) = 18 children. Fire clearance has been received for 16 children.

Outside measurements:

Ft area: 32 X 85 = 2,720/75 = 36

Bk area: 56 X 39 = 2,301/75 = 31
