32 | A detached garage to be used as a storage area for additional day care supplies. LPA observed a second garage that has been converted to be used as a play space for children. LPA observed additional age appropriate toys and materials, child sized chairs, child sized tables, and sponge flooring in the converted garage area. Continuing in the backyard play area, LPA observed a sand box, shade over the sand box and additional toys. Perimeter fencing was observed through out the back yard area. A wooden gate with a latch was observed in the back yard area leading to the off limits section of the back yard area. LPA observed 3 additional storage sheds and another gate leading to an area where the licensee's dog is kept. Per licensee, the dog de any interaction with the children in care. A jacuzzi was observed in the off-limits back yard area to be covered. Per licensee, isolation area for children showing signs of illness will be located in the kitchen.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Per Licensee, she currently has 3 assistant. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home
All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety,
comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a landline. Per Licensee, the home is equipped with central heating and air conditioning. Day care area was observed with safe toys, play equipment and materials.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be locked in the off limits garage.. The licensee understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked, not just inaccessible. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary.
The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 10/04/23, as indicated on service tag. LPAS reviewed disaster drill log and Fire drill was conducted on 4/23/24 |
