Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced random annual inspection to the above facility on 03/19/2025. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:15am, identified self and met with Vanessa Rodriguez, facility representative, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA provided facility representative with a copy of the LIC 125 Entrance Checklist to help facilitate the inspection. This is a preschool program is located on the Long Beach City College Campus. which consists of 4 classrooms: RM#1-En Fuego, RM#2-Tierra , RM#3 – Agua, and RM#4 – Viento. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:30PM. This center follows Title 22 and Title 5 regulations. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection: Room#1- En Fuego (2-3 years) with 5 Staff and 15 children, RM#2-Tierra (3-5 years) with 3 Staff and 13 children, RM #3 – Agua (3-4 years) with 3 Staff and 22 children, and RM#4 Viento (4-5 years) with 3 Staff and 21 children. LPA observed a total of 72 children during inspection. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. The following was observed during the tour of the facility: Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Linens are washed at the center as needed. Each classroom has a laundry area in the kitchenette. Napping equipment (mats) were observed in a separate storage room. Per facility representative, the isolation area is located in the office. Age-appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. General sanitation was observed. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in classrooms. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Facility Representative states that poisons are locked in the custodian’s cabinet which is inaccessible to children in care. Carbon monoxide detectors were observed and are operable. All kitchenettes in each classroom were observed and areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids or solid waste bags shall be discarded immediately after each

meal. Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, lose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard. Availability of outdoor drinking water was observed.
All floors were observed to be clean and safe. All materials accessible to children were observed to be toxic-free There are no firearms stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water at the facility. There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection. Children’s Records were reviewed. The name, address, and telephone number of child’s authorized representative is on file. Inspection of required forms was made and documented on the LIC 857. LPA also reviewed staff records. The review of Staff records was documented on the LIC 859. Staff present did have proof of the AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificate on file. Staff present did have proof of immunizations, TB Clearance, (MMR) mumps, measles, rubeola, TDAP, and current influenza or current influenza declination.All staff have been given on the-job training sanitation principles, housekeeping, including universal health precautions. Children's roster was reviewed and is current. Manual sign-In and Sign-Out sheets are available in each classroom and reviewed. Children present were signed in. Disaster drill log was available, last drill was conducted on 03/11/2025. Menus are posted one month in advance where it is visible by the child's authorized representative. Menus for the past 30 days are available upon request. Snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. The facility provides AM snack and PM snack. Lunch is delivered by the Corner Kitchen. First Aid supplies were observed in the classroom in a cabinet. According to facility representative, medication is only administered to a child when accompanied with a doctor's note and is stored in the office. Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. CCC COMPLETED TESTING 0n 01/03/2022. The exceedance was cleared by 01/12/2023 and retested, AND NO LEAD EXCEEDANCES: Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs)

constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and
administrative records.

Facility Representative was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility Representative, Vanessa Rodriguez.

There were no deficiencies cited during today’s inspection.
