25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection to the above facility, for the purpose of removing the facility from Inactive Status. At 11:15am, LPA met with licensee, Yan Yun Wu. Also present during this inspection, is John Licensee’s son, who assisted in interpreting as Licensee is primarily Cantonese speaking. The licensee states that they currently has 00 children enrolled. Licensee cares for children 0-8yrs. Hours of operation are 8am-7pm, Monday-Friday.
This is a two-story home which consists of 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, play area, attached garage, and backyard (fenced). The children use dining room, play area, 1st floor bathroom, and backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: entire second floor, bedrooms, kitchen, Laundry room, and attached garage. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The licensee provides food for children in care.
The licensee states that 7 adults and 0 minors currently living in the home. Persons living in home are identified on the attached LIC811. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed home. Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises.
At 11:25am, LPA was led on a tour of the facility by the licensee. Upon entry into the home, the front of the home has a stair case. There is a entry way that leads to the child care areas. There is a gate that separated the child care area from the front of the home, making the stairs inaccessible to children in care. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent’s Rights Poster and the Facility License are observed to be posted. The first area reviewed was the dining room area that is also a TV room. Licensee states children will spend time in here. Attached to the dining room is the play area. LPA observed two play yards and two high chairs. Licensee states they will only use the high chairs for the appropriate ages and when a child is eating. There were age appropriate toys and equipment present.
