32 | According to Director Timpke, there are currently 30 children enrolled. Two teachers and an assistant are assigned to each portable/class to ensure that teacher-child ratios are in compliance at all times. Roster was available and up to date. An Emergency Disaster Drill log is kept. The program conducts routine emergency drills (last recorded 4/29/22). Per staff, a wellness check is conducted upon arrival. Sign in and out sheets and procedures were reviewed and LPA observed all children physically present to be signed in.
Menus were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. The program offers breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Meals are provided by Options Food Program which follows mandated Federal Food Guidelines. Meal menus, license, car seat law, parents' rights for centers, emergency disaster plan and all other posting requirements were observed.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
