Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Veronica Martinez Garza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection at the above facility on 06/12/25 at 01:55 p.m. LPA met with Clara Valdez Urias licensee’s assistant who stated that the licensee had left to the store. Upon entering the home, LPA observed assistant was left alone with 11 children. Licensee’s assistant guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Licensee arrived at 2:33pm and assisted LPA with the rest of the inspection. According to the licensee, there was another assistant present and there were only 07 children in care. Licensee stated that the other 4 children arrived while the second assistant was present; however, she left at 1:40pm. Licensee had planned to arrive at the facility no later than 12:30pm; however, licensee was stuck in the freeway. Per licensee, she thought that the other 4 children would not be present due to at least 1 parent notified licensee that they would not bring their child and the other parents brought their children past their normal drop off time. Per licensee, 14 children are enrolled. Operation hours are Monday through Friday 07:30am to 06:00pm.
This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, garage, storage, front yard and backyard (fenced). Areas accessible to children include living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms (used only during nap time), 2 bathrooms, and back yard. Per licensee’s assistant, areas off limits to children and parents include 1 bedroom, garage, storage, and front yard. According to the licensee, there is 1 dog on the premises. Family members residing in the home are 2 adults and 0 minors. All individuals present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing, or volunteering in a licensed home and are identified on the attached LIC811.
LPA toured all areas identified on the facility sketch used by children during this visit and were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. Tour began in the living room where LPA observed (1) play pen, feeding chairs, some materials for children and furniture.
