LPAs met with Licensee Dolores Bonilla who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival, LPAs observed the Licensee and cleared adult resident assistant providing care for six children (4 preschool, two infants). Per Licensee there are six children enrolled attending at various times. Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted. The children's roster is current.
At approximately 1:30pm LPA conducted an inspection of all areas of the facility sketch. This is a single story home consisting of three (3) bedrooms and two (2) bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area, outdoor recreation room, and garage. Areas used by children include living room, three bedrooms, one bathroom and backyard. Off limits include the parts of the backyard (inaccessible by child gates), storage, and garage.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. Licensee has no pets at this time. LPA advised Licensee to provide extra care and supervision if animals commingle with children as animals may be unpredictable. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. Licensee indicated due to rain the backyard will be put in order at later date and is off-limits at this time. LPA reminded Licensee to ensure that all medicines, chemicals, cleaners, paints, sharp objects, grills, propane, and similar hazardous items must be inaccessible at all times. LPA informed Licensee that poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Firearms and weapons regulations were discussed. There are no bodies of water and LPAs did not observe any on the premises. The License, Parents Rights Poster, and Earthquake Preparedness was posted. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and is due for service March 2024.
