25 | At 9:20 am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Roxana Lopez conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA met with Child Development Supervisors, Elsa Gomez and Denise Maria who arrived at the facility at 9:50 am. Child Development Supervisor Elsa Gomez guided the LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool age head start program licensed for 150 children which operates Monday – Friday 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Per Site Supervisor there are 88 children currently enrolled.
All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Facility is located in a building located on the Rio Vista Elementary School Campus. The following staff was present during this inspection: Room # 1: Staff #1, Staff #2 and Staff # 3 with 13 children, Room # 2: Staff # 4, Staff # 5 with 13 children, Room # 3: Staff # 6, Staff # 7 and Staff # 8 with 13 children, Room # 4: Staff # 8, Staff # 9 and Staff # 10 with 13 children, Room # 5 Staff # 11, Staff # 12, and Staff # 13 with 15, Room # 6 Staff # 14, Staff # 15 and Staff # 16 with 15 children, Room # 7 was observed to be empty. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. Staff names were recorded. All children were observed to be under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. The licensed facility is within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license.
LPA observed the facility to be clean, sanitary and in good repair. Furniture and equipment was inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Classroom was inspected to ensure that the floors have a surface that is safe and clean. All toilets and washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. At this time, each classroom uses the quiet area as isolation area. Parents are contacted immediately when children are determined to be ill and staff are ensuring that children with obvious symptoms of illness are not being accepted. -------------------------------------------------- 1 of 5 --------------------------------
